- Staining Wood
- Lightly sand bare wood smooth with medium to fine grain sandpaper. Wipe clean with a damp rag to remove dust. If previously painted, remove the paint to bare wood. If previously stained, make sure the stain will penetrate before using. Splash a couple drops of water on the surface. If the water penetrates, then so will the stain. If not, you may have to sand the surface first. Surface should be clean, dull and dry before staining.
